Brand New LT1 Engine?
Yo,
I think he started this post so he could find the best clutch for his situation.
Let him ask as many questions. isnt this the reason we come to this website? to hear from other opinions/experiences and learn something new?
Yo, little brother. Keep asking, I am learning instead of wasting money on parts that will not work.

Semantics maybe, but AFAIK these must be remans, not "new". I'd be interested to know if they are in fact "new". But to the best of my knowledge, GM stopped making LT1/4 blocks when the C5 came out. IOW, as soon as they stopped putting them in new cars. There were some left over motors, but once those were sold there were no more.

My block is stamped with the date 5/21/2001.

GM made a number of "service replacement" LT1 longblocks like mine. FWIW, I have a 4 bolt main block.

Thanks man... thats how people learn, asking questions... L0L I'm just glad I found a clutch that works... or will work I guess. L0L Thanks fellas...
The Steel Flywheel and Mcleod Single Disk...
But I also heard that the Steel Flywheel is no good for Street Purposes... Aluminum is the way to be... more controversy!! damn it!!

LT1 Is extermely Durable.. But by no mean's bullet proof.. i have gotten over 150K miles out of mine and some have more than that.. I raced mine every weekend.. It made over 300 RWHP w/ that mileage and ran' 12's all day long.. So.. I have no complaints.. but the bullet proof thing went out the window when i was picking up the 4 con rod's out of the oil pan....
