brand new AC Delco part went bad ... can i return it to any GM dealer?

i baught it from dal up in north florida. can i just take it off, take the dated invoice up to the local dealer and swap it out? its only like 4 or 5 months old.

the part is the tensioner pulley, it sounds like the bearings are going bad which was the same thing that happened to the last one...

Try it. If you're polite enough you should have no problems. Call somebody up on the phone first and get their name and become "friendly" with them. No sense in going up to the counter and throwing the part around and demanding a new one. Just tell them that you bought it new from the dealer in order to assure a good "quality" part. Tell them you had to pay to install it and to remove it and they should hook you right up with a new one. Though, 3 months might be all they'll back up. Good luck with the situation.

I think you mean Jason, not Dal.

I have always been under the impression that the GM parts had a 12 month warranty and that you could get that warranty at any dealer.

No you usually can't. Call the dealer where you purchased it, and they should take care of it for you.

Most GM parts have a written warranty. Check the small print on the GM dealer's receipt. The exception seems to be electrical components.

Any authorized delco dealer should take it back, but it may take couple dealers. I returned my ECM to a dif dealer with no problem.
