Brakes after CC305

Hey guys - long time no post.
Ok, last summer I installed a CC305 in my car as well as 1.6 RRs. After a horrible install and getting ripped off like hell, it finally worked, yay. Brakes seemed ok then. After coming back from school, I noticed that the brakes didnt seem as good. I was having to push the pedal all the way to the floor just to stop the car backing out of my driveway So I bring the car to the mechanic and he says i'm only getting 12 pounds of vacuum to the brakes, and the car needs at least 18. He said it is probably caused by my cam. Argggg, what should I do? I thought CC305s arent that much on the brakes? Man, now my dad is REALLY gonna kick my ***

Do you have programming?
Improved closed throttle timing should help you with that.

Ohh... I'm sorry, you're Phil who emailed me earlier? OK, sorry about that.

But like I said, improved timing should help the vacuum problem created by the cam.

Are you sure everything is OK with the brakes? (good pads/rotors/no air in the brake lines)

The dude didnt even check the rest of the car yet He calls my dad and tells him that it was the cam I put in it, and of course, my dad being mr "I hate camaros" flipped out and calls me up screaming...
"I told you not to put that goddamn thing in the car, now look what you are going to haveto pay for!!! GODDAMNIT!!!"

Hopefully it is either just the programming or possibly a vacuum leak? The guy said he tested it and it was only gettin 12 pounds.... rrright.

Strange that you are having vacuum problems with the 305, but I don't know anything about automatics.

If all else fails you can grab a vacuum resivoir (fancy name for a canister) and throw it in.

Yeah... I can say it isn't the cam... It may be caused by something during the install. but not the cam itself. I have the 305 and have fine brakes... well I did... but that is a different story not related to the Cam.
