brakeing question

Hi I just bought my first fourth gen today 1993 z28 auto. Ive owned 3 third gens so Im pretty familer with camaros. Well heres my question after driving it home i noticed the front brakes were really hot and smoking alittle and the pedal got really hard . I got back in it and it was really hard to move the car like the parking break was set but only on the front brakes. Does this mean my abs is shot or does it need to be adjusted? As I tride to drive it the front brakes just started to smell really bad so any help would be greatly apprestiated

The brakes are sticking.
I have never heard of the ABS causing a problem like this.
Do both sides get hot? or just one side?

I agree... never heard of ABS causing this kind of problem.

Maybe some bad fluid or calipers. Definitely needs to be checked out.

An off chance..... was the previous owner a drag racer that might have installed a line lock in the car? An accidental flip of the line lock switch could do this.

Thats not an abs problem but it sure sounds like a pad slap problem from someone selling a used car. Check the fluid for contamination(I have seen someone put motor oil in master cyl before which will destroy every rubber part in the brake system) and if thats ok check for twisted lines, lubed caliper pins. If the rotors are glazed with thick(almost new) pads get the rotors turned.

I've seen bad brake hoses do this. It's a problem that has only started showing up the last few years. The things act like a one way valve. A broken pedal return spring can cause this too.
