brake line bending
brake line bending
Looks like I may have to buy and bend my own line. I'm working on finding a replacement from another car but no yard stocks f-bodies and havent found anyone yet with a spare.
Anyways, what size line do I need? Where to get? Also what kind of tools am I going to require for making a new front driver's side hard line? Any help would be appreciated.

Probably any parts store can tell you what size you need, I'm not sure on that. When I replaced a line on my buddies van we did it right in an Autozone parking lot. They just gave me a length of straight line and let me borrow a bender they had behind the counter. Bout a half hour later and a little bit of tweaking and it was done. Autozone will let you borrow their tools by just swapping them your ID, and possibly like 10 bucks for a deposite or something. I don't believe very many places stock prebent lines, so it's doubtful you'll find that at any parts stores.
I'll hit up the parts stores if I can't locate a line. What about the fittings on each end of the line? I think the one in the ABS modulator is a different size than the one that hooks to the rubber hose by the caliper. How to go about putting thos on?
Since I've never had to swap one on an F-body I'm not sure about that. The parts store should be able to help you out though. If you can wait a couple days check out the fs section of this board, I'm sure someone has a replacement for you. Post a want ad also.
