Pads from AutoZone somewhere less than $100 for the fronts, anti-squeal goo $1, a pint of fluid less than $10, resurfacing rotors maybe $25 each.

Just buy new rotors, don’t have them resurfaced. Change the part yourself with basic parts from AutoZone, Napa, or the like. I have found the Advanced Auto Parts has a 1-year warrantee on their rotors compared to the 90day warrantee of AutoZone, and your rotors WILL warp within a year so you’ll be able to get new ones. Should only cost you $90 or so for new rotors and pads.

If you have it done for you, they are doing to rape you; 200-$300 most likely.

Doing it your self is real easy. All you have to remove is the tire and caliper (the caliper is held on by only 2 bolts). You’ll probably have to buy an Allen head socket for the calipers (the guy at the parts store should know what you need). Other than that all you need is a C-clamp to depress the caliper and ratchet.

There is a pretty simply break job write-up floating around here somewhere. You should probably buy a Haynes manual though (or something similar), they come in real handy.
