bought a new brake pads, and it doesnt fit the rotor??

bought a new brake pads, and it doesnt fit the rotor??

is this possible to happen if i'm buying a new brake pads?? i took my brake pads off, and i put in the new one. now the gap is too narrow for the new pads to fit in, i was like WTF?? .....please help. thanks

You need to push the caliper piston back with a big azz C-clamp.

Yeah, slowly oush the piston back in with a decent size c-clamp, and the pads will fit fine.

Get a 6" clamp at a hardware or home store. That will take care of most situations.

Another way to do it is to put the old pads back into the caliper and then use two large screwdrivers crisscrossed in between them to lever the piston back into the bore. This works better if you have the calipers disconnected from the brake lines.
