Bottom end rebuild

I have a friend who wants to rebuild his bottom end. He wants to go with light weight pistons and rods. What kind should he go with?? He also wants to upgrade his bearings (cam, main, and rod). What would be the best bearings for him to upgrade to. He does have a budget but will consider anything. Any help is appreciated.

The reason you haven't gotten any response is there is a lot left out. What is he planning to do with the car? Is he gonna just rebuild it to stock??? There are a whole bunch of different kits out there he can look at. Do a search on the subject and asked your friend what exactly is it he wants to do.

Sorry I didnt include more info. I'll try some more. He has a 6 speed 95 trans am. It has about 130k on the clock and he wants to go through it. He is thinking about a p&p job on the stock heads and a hotcam or something around that size. He wants the driveability to not affected too much, but still wants to get good power. He wants lightweight internals because he wants the car to rev quick, plus it will all be balanced and blueprinted so he can spray the hell out of it. Any suggestions now? Maybe even a site that offers good rebuild kits for the Lt1?

I have heard good things about Diamond pistons as of late. Both in quality and performance.
Rods are all in how much money you are going to spend. The more money, the better rod you will get. If the car isnt going to make over 500hp I wouldn't worry too much about a really nice rod though. A stock rod will be fine on a NA motor, if he is doing a mild street build.
