Both Power Windows Quit Working After Car Wash???

Just got done washing my '93 Z and drying it, go to roll my windows down and the driver side goes about 1/4 the way down and stops. Both sides havent acted slow or anything ever before and now neither side will roll down. I changed the Windows Breaker and it still didnt help. Anyone got any ideas?

This has happened to me before as well, I checked the switches for power, the fuse was good, but the windows wouldn't work. I took the door panels off and tapped the motor with a screwdriver right on the gear cover. The windows went up and down without a hitch after that. I think some water may have got inside the motor in your case, and is shorting out the electrical connection. Try tapping them with something then pressing the button.

Before peeling your door panel off, which is a major pain in the but to get back on without breaking any clips, you may just want to beat on the middle of the door (from the inside).

It could just be water shorting it out in any number of places, so getting it to move out of any cracks that it may have settled in might help.

I wasn't that surprised to find my plugs on the top of the window motor rusted up last time I looked - water stays inside our doors.
