Bose adapters for Aftermarket headunit?
Bose adapters for Aftermarket headunit?
I put a clarion cd player in my car. It plays music and cd's no problem. However, it makes a loud popping noise when you change radio stations and and cd tracks. I paid like $25 for the adapter. Anyone else have this problem. If yours works flawlessly, which adapter did u use? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Michael
I work in a home theater/car audio store, and if you bought the right adaptor for the bose then thats not the problem. It sounds like the amp on one or more of your speakers may be out or going out. I had the same problem with mine about 1 yr after i put in my aftermarket head unit. I just gutted the bose system all together and replaced the speakers and bought new amps. So i would say take a look at the amps on each speaker first. Good luck!
josh-combs24 - When you replaced your Bose unit and speakers, did you have to run new wire for the replacement speakers or were you able to use the original wires? Also, the adapter unit I currently have may be faulty - what replacement unit would you recommend? Thanks!!
Yes i did have to run new wire to my speakers. If you were going to replace the rear and the door speakers i would use 4 conductor wire (i used this myself)..but if only two will be replaced then i would use just anytype of 2 conductor. You will get a better sound with new wire....and as for the adaptor, u can go to just about any audio store and buy a new one. I got mine from Best Buy. Just make sure the adaptor will work not only for the bose system but also for your head unit. Good Luck. email me at josh_combs24@homtail.com if you need anymore help
