Borla w/ AS&M headers question
I am about to install AS&M mid-length headers w/ y-pipe and a hi flow cat. Right now I have a flowmaster cat back but I am thinking of changing to a Borla. Will I have a better power gain with a Borla catback? Will it sound better? I heard the Borla sounds crappy with Hooker LT's but what about mid lengths?
I have AS&Ms, a RT cat, and a borla catback. I think it all sounds great, nice mean tone with the open plate, although when you arent on it, even with the open plate, it's nice and quiet when cruising. And with the blockoff plate in, it's not hardly louder than stock exhaust, which is nice if you want a sleeper
I spent three hours putting stock tips back on my borla (so they wouldnt impede flow) and mine looks totally stock

I had the exact set up you have (flows) on your car when I first purchased my camaro. I soon installed AS&M's, Random Tech Cat, and Borla. I noticed a somewhat quieter exhaust note, but it was more "race car" like, as opposed to the "truck like" sound Flomasters emit. There was also a dramatic difference in the powerband of the car. You'll find it's somewhat dead in the lower rpm's, but will pull a lot harder up to the red. You'll like it.
