I'd defiantly go with the LM. Not saying the Borla isn't good, my friend has one. But I think you should spend $1,000 somewhere else

I just had a borla system, Mac headers and off-road pipe installed two weeks ago and I love the set-up. Since you already have the Borla, why not buy a cut-out and get the best of both worlds?

Loudmouth. Cheaper can be just as good as the more expensive systems. I'm going to be selling my Borla for a Hooker cat-back shortly.

I have a Borla and am totally stoked with it I haven't heard a LM before, but purchased my Borla because of it's setup. When the 3" Borla pipe gets ready to enter the muffler it splits into two seperate pipes going to the rear. The first pipe goes through the muffler which gets its usual restriction. The 2nd pipe goes straight back without a muffler(restriction) Yes, technically you are supposed to put a restrictor plate in this pipe to revert some of the flow to the muffler, but why would you With this setup you can leave the restrictor plate out and run one of the pipes open

The restrictor plates are for different tones aren't they?

You already have the Borla's. Buy somthing useful and add more horse power. I wouldn't waist my money on something I already have.

Save up for some headers

True the restrictor plates do give different tones allowing you to make your exhaust louder or quiter depending on your preference. They also affect the air flow. The air going through the muffler will be slowed down while the air going through the pipe (with no restrictor plate installed) will not be slowed down. Since air goes the path of least restriction you have to figure that about 25% of the air will go through the muffler pipe while about 75% of the air will flow through the open pipe. Just estimates on the % Faster and better flowing air is where the HP gains will come from so it does give a slight advantage having the open pipe instead of all of the air going through the muffler.

I have borla so i am biased, but if at some point you do decide to throw some headers on it, you will be thankfull you stuck with the borla and didn't get the loudmouth because LM + Headers = way to loud to be comfortable, and the tickets that cops will be dieing to give wont be cheap!!!

Just my $.02

I don't really like the Borla since it went from the old style 4 piece setup[the one with 2 muffler outlets on psgr side] to the 'new' 7 piece setup...
The intermediate pipe alone is 3 sections!
It just sounds like too many joints to me...
Anyone have problems with the 'new' style?
