yea i feel the same way i had my lm installed for like 2 months now . . it was loud to me the first few times driving it now its to queit to me . . i need it to be louder . . im not going to be able to install my jet hot lt till march
When i put my shortys in at idle the car got quiet but at wot it got very much louder. Inside the car we just dont get the full sound of it because of the tips being in the back of the car. Ive said the same thing too about it not being loud enough at times. So ive thought about putting a E-cutout for when im raceing around.
Borla is louder trust me. Had the Borla with ou the headers damn thing sounded like a freight train. Reason being Borlas ar e louder becasue half the system is a straight pipe. Air goes through the cat and right out the rear pipe avoiding the muffler. like 40%-35% of the air flow actually goes through the muffler. Most of it flows out the straight pipe...Man reason why on Borlas the little Block off plate increases HP better becasue it maintains back pressure.
DMH Performance has them for 199.99.
As for the muffler theory. Loudmouth dont have one. It has a deflection muffler. Which mean the whole sytem is a 3inch system with a 2 foot section of 4 inch pipe. Thats it. Which basicly means. It dont have a muffler. And the little bit of sound that, that little section of pipe is killing makes that but of a difference then take it out. A hack saw, welder, section of pipe and ten mins. of time can fix that.

I have a borla and my friend had a loudmouth both on stock cars with cats and manifolds. To me the loudmouth sound extremely loud out side the car and it was really loud inside the car. My borla was very tame sounding in the car but my buddy said it was really loud out side. I would say the loudmouth is the louder of the two though.
never heard loudmouth, but the name must mean something. I found out why my borla was so loud: the pressure plate installed was 3", matched the pipe exactly. No cats makes my car loud too. Good thing about borla's is e-cutout, which is $150 on group purchase. I drove tanks for two years in the army, and my camaro at 5000 rpms with opened pressure plate sounds louder than a damn tank, its a mean car
I've had both. Without a doubt, the LM is much louder, with or without a bullit muffler on it. I always thought my Borla was too quiet even with the biggest plate.
I ran the Borla for three years and the LM for 3 months.
