Borla install withOUT a Sawzall. Need suggestions.

I jsut got my borla catback at my door this morning Bought it used form a member on here, and it looks great. Taking off all the old nuts/screws was a breeze, but I'm having problmes with the stock pipe being one pice. I'm in the process of gaing at it with a hack saw, but this is gona take a while. I was looking arround and was thinking if it would be easier to unscrew the 3 bolts that hold that bar going from one side to the other.

How did you guys take off the stock pipe with out an electric or air tool?

I used a dremel to cut it. i suggest cutting it though near the bend after it has come over the rear-end. The black bar that runs on a diagonal - you may need to take out the three bolts on the driver side to get the exhaust to squeeze over the axle. Only problem I had getting it re-attached was the exhuast pipe was bigger and kinda in the way, but not a problem. The metal support a short ways after the cat. that is held up with 4 bolts is also safe to remove.

I just installed my B&B exhuast this past week, so let me know if you have any other questions.

Just use a hacksaw, it takes a while, but it's effective.

I've used a hacksaw, 4" grinder, and a sawzall. The sawzall is the ticket, but a hacksaw will work.

I forgot to keep you guyes posted. I went out to buy a blade for my hacksaw, but instead I bough one of thsoe handheld cuttign tools. Well it was a pain in the *** cus I now had a dull hacksaw, and the hand tool. The blade on the hack saw was thinner so it was a pain to work with both. I ended up taking my time and cutting it half way till I got pissed, so I started to bend the pipe to break it off.

In the end, my brother was pulling on the Cat side of the pipe out to the right, while I routed and bent the other way over the rear end. Workign with out the proper tools sucks.

There is another post on the results and what I thought about it.

Dude....just go to Home Depot or Lowe's and buy a sawzall or another reciprocating saw for like $40-50 and make your life a little easier. Once you're done just return the tool and say you didn't like it.
