i was scared to torque them that high, i just knew that if i added a couple of extra lbs of torque, it would strip out.....

ARP bolts can take quite a beating. If they can go up to 85 ft-lbs, the 70 ft-lbs is no big deal.

 

Yea I usually follow what the chiltons manual says. thats why i was wondering why the ARP directions gave 2 different torque specs.

 

You should follow the Chilton if you are using new stock bolts. They are torque to yield.

 

i wasnt worried about the bolts, just the hole....
