Bolt-ons and 12's???

Well I was at the track (1/8) and I ran an 8.841 @ 78.58. My mods are in my sig. I did the math (8.841 x 1.55) and I came up with about a 13.7 in the 1/4 on a completely bone stock motor and I am leaving a lot on the table with my 1.963 60'. I spun on the line and my car is in bad need of a tune.

Do you think its possible for my M6 at full weight to run 12's with a CAI, LT's, cutouts, tune, and a couple of free/cheap mods? (once I get my 60' down) Do you know of any LT1's (A4 or M6) that are bolt-ons and in the 12's with full weight? I think I can do it.

It's very likely you can get into the 12's. I've seen a few people do it with full exhaust and some suspension upgrades, sticky tire etc.

I have done it and with the stock converter at that. It will definately take some sticky tires and some decent air, but it is pretty easily attainable IMO.

i ran a 13.2 with half an intake lobe wiped off in 85 degree weather with 195k miles on the stock longblock. Mods are in my sig, that was on a 1.95 60' before the cam, waterpump rockers, ect.

Re: Bolt-ons and 12's???

FYI. To correctly convert 1/8 mile times to equivalent 1/4s, you either multiply the 1/8 time by a factor of 1.5625, or divide the 1/8 time by .64. This is based on some NHRA numbers in stock classes that assumes cars of this type typically make 64 percent of their ET in the 1/8, leaving only 36 percent of the ET in the second half of the 1/4.

So then will by bolt-ons how far into the 12's do you think will be achievable? I more than likely won't hit 300 rwhp with bolt-ons and tune.

I wanted to stay full weight. I know there is an LT1 in town that has no performance or suspension mods and is running low 13's just with weight reduction.

I ran a 12.97 on DRs with the below mods. Basically just AS&M headers, Borla exhaust and SLP intake. BUt I think my LT1 is a freak. I regularly take to school LS1s stock and bolt on.
