Bolt on modifications

Out of curiosity and keep in mind that I don't have a lot of money, what bolt on mods are out there that can add some horsepower, (If any). Right now all I have is GMPP/SLP Cold Air Induction and an 85mm MAF Sensor. I estimate that my car now runs about 300-305 hp. Thanks for your time everybody. Oh yeah, another quick question, I have 3.73 rear end (not installed) and there is a chip on one of the rivets on the ring and the pinion, does that mean that the gears are no good anymore? Thanks

very doubtful you have 300 HP from a MAF and CAI. For other mods, cat-back, some headers should net you good gains

But if my car comes stock with 285hp and the CAI alone is supposed to add 25hp (I know SLP exagerates a little) wouldnt it be at least around a 15hp gain alone from the CAI, not even including the MAF?

If your flowmaster is a full exhaust, not just the muffler, then yes, you should have reached the 300 flywheel HP mark. An aftermarket MAF usually adds nothing.

Get CAI, headers, and a good flowing exhaust. Maybe even a cutout if you want.

I'd say 15hp most out of a CAI. Yeah most companies exaggerate and the day a CAI gives you 25hp on a stock motor is the day Vanilla Ice hits #1 on American Top 40. 15hp might be pushing though as well. That 85mm MAF wont do anything for power. The stock MAF flows adequate for a 400+hp car. Headers would be a nice addition and maybe some 1.6 rr's.

Hey, I just heard that Vanilla Ice just hit #1 on the top 40 Just kidding. I would go with a good exhaust, more air in = more air out.
