BMR K-member won't work with SLP's....

I bought a BMR K-member with motor mounts, and it doesn't work with my SLP headers, has anyone else had or seen this problem. BMR never told me there would be a problem, they only said there K-member doesn't work with AS&M headers. Any help is appreciated.

The Driver side header contacts the k-member and won't allow it to line up or the y-pipe to bolt up.

Really thats odd considering the K member usually allows more room. These are shorties right?

Yes there are shorties, the driver side flange is conacting the motor mount on the driver side, i did a search now and found a few people who had the same issue, i wonder why BMR can't share this info or at least put it on there site.

Probably because its not BMR's job to test other companies aftermarket parts.

A search probably would have turned up what your having happen. Most shorties seem to have flange issues with the K-member. grind down the flange, or go with a different (read:better) header. I'm sure if you dropped them an email, they'd add SLP shorties to the list of headers that dont fit.

Yup, I'm in the process of researching this very same thing. Check out the thread in the Supporting Vendor Section. You'll need to modify the headers to fit if you want to keep the k-member. I'm considering ordering one and doing whatever I need to get it to work. Having the access/clearance of the k-member is a definite plus!

When I called BMR about this, they told me that the K-member wouldn't work with ASM or SLP headers, or other shorties. Here's some reading:

I had contacted BMR they didn't tell me it wouldn't work with SLP's, they just said it won't work with the AS&M. I think I will have to go back to Long Tubes and for the cost it looks like Pacesetter Long Tubes for me.
