Blown Ignition Fuse??? (Shoebox)

I have tried a ton of stuff with my car and can't figure anything out. It stranded me one day and hasn't ran right since. It stranded me because it blew an ignition fuse. What can cause this??? I have tried posting this several times and I get no help. I just need to know what can cause an ignition fuse to blow. I had my car die on me because of it and it hasn't ran since. I replaced the opti and haven't had any luck. Two 02 sensor wires were melted together by the header, but I fixed that. Still nothing. I am getting fuel and spark. What can cause the ignition fuse to blow and after the fuse was replaced, could keep the car from running? I really appreciate any replies.

Thanks,
Benji

The ign fuse powers the coil, ICM and the transmission solenoids. Any problems with those items or their wiring can cause the fuse to blow.

I replaced the fuse and the fired up once, but ran horrible. Hasn't started since. I have since replaced the coil. Is there a way to check and see if anything else is bad? If not, I'm going to pull the opti off and double check it went on right. Thanks for the info though.
