Blown head gasket

Blew a head gasket on the way to work Wednesday morning. There was so much steam coming out of the exhaust pipes that 3 lanes of traffic went to zero visibility. Damnedest thing I've ever seen. Is there any way other than pulling the plugs to see which side the gasket blew on? Thanks.

IMHO, if you are going to do one, you should do them both for piece of mind. Maybe not what you want to hear, but just an opinion.

Actually that is what I expected to hear. Guess I just wanted someone to validate what I was thinking. I have the intake off already so I better get out there and get back to it. Thanks.

I agree to do both, but the only thing I can think of is the passenger side is 100x tougher than the driver's side. If its the driver's side you could save time and effort, but the if its the passenger you might as well do both.

A plug is the best indicator, but once you pull the heads you'll know exactly where it busted a nut. Especially with that kind of blowout.
