blown head gasket?
blown head gasket?
what would cause a blown head gasket, OTHER than overheating. i ask because yesterday i took the car out and decided to get on it and then when i parked it and came back out noticed something under the car. when i looked i found dexcool! then i started the car and popped the hood and saw water dripping on the very last primary of my driverside header. the only thing i could think of is a blown headgasket. but the car never overheated. they are ported heads from lloyd elliot and have only about 5000 miles on them. just trying to figure out what would have caused this.
Re: blown head gasket?
Get under the car & look around the rear of the engine to see if maybe one of the coolant crossover bolts/seals are leaking. Hopefully something like this, or another external leak would be the cause of your problems...
Re: blown head gasket?
i used the proper amount of torque on the bolts plus i have the tool you put on your ratchet to measure the degrees for a complete proper install. i am sure i torqued in the right order and didnt reuse the headbolt i bought new ones. i will get under and check the crossover tube and run a compress test on it.
