Keep an eye on your coolant... if that seems to get lower, then it could be the heads. Change the oil , if antifreeze is in it , itll have a milky kinda color too it. Personally i dont think its the head gasket tho because the opti seemed to fix it for a day ? Or maybe it didnt but your mind was playin tricks on you ? lol ... jsut suggesting , not tryin to flame or nething ... If it had a air leak, like a bad one couldnt it cause that ? Like if it was running lean wouldnt it do that ?

I was jsut getting ready to post that , that instead of running really lean, could it be pig rich cause that would cause it to do that. Im trying to think what could make it run really rich ... I guess if MAF was out, IAT, MAP, Something else restricting the flow PAST the sensors , so they tell the computer to inject lots of gas for lots of air , then since it would be restricted it would get minor air and lots of gas , hence really rich. However im jsut aimlessly babling on now cause its late and im gonna go to bed so good luck with your car , when you find out what it is , PM me , cuz thats gunna have me up thinkin now lol

Are you sure you got the correct wires on the correct portion of the new opti? I've heard of people messing this up before and the car runs like crap, backfires, etc.
