Unhappy blown engine, Need good short block options

My oil pressere has been getting lower and lower lately and I started putting in 20-50 with lucas oil stabilizer to try to keep the pressure up. Well, it finally went today. I was backing in my barn and it suddenly started knockin like crazy and almost totally lost oil pressure. Need some good short block opinions, who do you guys recomend?

Alot of variables here. What kind of budget? Going for stock rebuild or stroker motor. Any modification plans or keeping it stock. You could buy a used motor on ebay for a descent price or go for a reubild kit from summit or go with a short block from a dealer like scoggy dickens or go with a custom
builder. The point here is more info is needed in order to let you know your options.

PS I can be VERY generous with other peoples money

I'm wanting something with at least forged rods and pistons. And from what I've seen you can get a 383 for about the same price as a 355 so I guess I'll go ahead with the bigger cubes. But what I was mainly wondering is peoples experiences. like the names of some places I should or shouldn't get a motor from.

Re: blown engine, Need good short block options

maybe if u get cheap parts. i'm going through this right now, wanted a 383 but had to go 355 cuz of my budget. my car threw a rod, and all machine work/parts are costing me -around- 3500$ a 383 was around 4800.
also, what are your current mods? those prices are with me already having le2 heads/rockers/injectors all that stuff. so if ur basically a slight bolt on car, add another 2 g's or so.

They do good work and get into a lot of detailed block prep. Golen is every bit as good a choice as CM or GM.

Golen also has a lifetime warantee on labor. They will rebuild your whole engine for free if it is bad. They stand behind their work.

But how could you prove if the something went wrong because of labor?? And not because of you running the crap outa it to much nitrous etc. etc.
