Always mill lt1 heads before reinstalling them or you will likely be doing it again.

At least have them checked. Heads don't always have to be milled after a blown head gasket. If overheating became a factor then milling would be more of a possibility.

All of the stock casting lt1 heads I have had runout of .006" has been the best of them blown head gaskets or not. Just something I consider mandatory when they're off since cost is minimal. Of course I usually have the guides checked and a valve job done too but I am very picky, as always ymmv do what makes you sleep good.
