block ID

Hey guys, new to the forum and LT motors. Im trying to identify a block. Can anyone tell me the significance of the L203 below the 5.7 stamp? It doesn't look like a normal cast #. and where could I find the casting number if this is not it?

I hope the pic works.

Re: block ID

Look here.

I don't think the other number has any significance as far as block ID.

Re: block ID

It looks like an Impala motor with the cast iron heads, the id number will tell for sure. You'll need to know to replace the engine harness.

I didn't look at all the pics at first, but yes, the water pump is a b-body one.
