Bleeding my brakes.. someone give me an answer please

Ok i disconnected the front calipers and lines and let the fluid spill out of it for a few days while waiting on my new calipers.

I also bled one of the metal lines that connects the master cylinder to the silver box looking thing ( I think its the abs ). I thought i'd have to disconnect those 2 metal lines that attach to the master cylinder in order to remove it from the brake booster (when changing my shocks)

What order do i need to bleed the system. and do i need to bleed the rear calipers?

Do i have to bleed the abs system and where are the bleeder valves on it?

I need to make sure i bleed them correctly before i test them. Because when i start up teh car its going to be really really loud (open headers) So i cant really drive around the apartment complex for long testing them.

Ok i did a search and found out that I might have to Bench bleed my master cylinder. I do not know what that means....??
Can i avoid doing that if i use Mity-Vac to bleed the system?

Bleeding usually is in a routine of starting with the farthest wheel from the master cylinder.

If you have ABS, this is the left rear wheel...else start with the right rear wheel then left rear wheel then right front wheel then left front wheel.

As for messing with your ABS box, I am not sure what to tell you other than you probably shouldn't have cracked open those lines to the ABS module.

But since you have, I have heard there are two ways to bleed this unit. Once is to take to a dealership and let them do it by having the computer open the unit for bleeding.

The other way is once you have bled all your brakes is to drive the car and create an ABS event. Meaning...make your brakes lock up enough that the ABS kicks in.

Then do not touch the brakes again once the ABS event has occured and bleed the brakes with the engine still running and without having touched the brakes since the ABS event.

My understanding is this keeps the ABS module open and then you can bleed all the brakes again, thus pushing fluid through the ABS module.

I have no proof that this works, but I know some road course guys that I run with that have tried it and swear that it works.

Yeah, don't F with the ABS. That was an $1,100 part last year.

My entire break system was contaminated and I had to replace everything!

When I used the Mity Vac I had no problem getting out all the air. had a friend keep the master cylinder full as I sucked out all the old fluid. I did not bench bleed the MC or mess with ABS.
