Black painted Pacesetters

hey guys im doing my heads cam swap and would like to buy some headers. Im on a limited budget and i found some pacesetters for like 155 bucks on ebay(bid may go up to 250 but thats ok). They are not coated but just painted black. i was wondering if they are any good or not. i really like the coated ones, but i heard that the only reason for coated ones are the keep the temp down for the ac, which i deleted. Should i bid 200 bucks on em or not?

thanks

james

Headers are coated for a couple raeasons... they help keep heat in, they help keep the headers from cracking in extreme temperatures.

Re: Black painted Pacesetters

dont use the exhaust wrap, they will help your headers rust in record time. Seriously try and spring for the coated version, they will (arguably) make a little more power, keep underhood temps down, and help your headers last so you dont have to replace them next year. Plus they look sweet!
