Re: Bilstein shocks

No, they are a bit on the soft side... you would be better off running 3rd gen in the rear and revalved in the front. You can also run konis in the front, stick with sa koni.

Talk to Sam Jr. at Strano parts http://www.stranoparts.com/index.php

Re: Bilstein shocks

Why not just get some HDs?

Re: Bilstein shocks

I run Bilstein's on my car and I mostly only drive it at the road course and the shocks have been awesome.

I also run LG G2 springs, but haven't notices the shocks being soft at all.

I bought them from Shox.com considerably cheaper than anywhere else.

My Bilstein HDs don't feel soft at all to me. http://bimmerparts.com/ even cheaper than shox.com .

I agree, with stock springs, they work very good. Sam Strano, who is an expert in this area feels that even the HD's should be revalved to a higher damping rate, but that's only if you want that "little extra" performance. It's not cheap to revalve them either. I'm very happy with my "straight out of the box" bilstein HD's. They have a much higher damping rate than the stock decarbons, and I think anything higher would be too harsh for me, to be honest.

Cool Re: Bilstein shocks

I switched my stock Koni DA's out for the SLP Bilsteins when I borke one up front.

Much better ride for my daily driver.

Like mentioned above, Sam is the man when it comes to shocks. Was very helpful when I was looking to repair the front one before i decided to replace all four.
