305 = 220 / 230, .510 / .510 114 LSA

LT4 = 218 / 228, .492/ .492 w/ 1.5 rockers, .525/.525 w/ 1.6 - both w/112 LSA

Go bigger!

If you step up to 1.6 roller rockers with a 305 it ends up being .544/.544 lift. You'd want to do the 1.6s with either one I would think.

Yep, go with the 1.6 to get the most lift out of those cams...

cc 305 is a bit bigger - hot cam kit us usually a cheaper option - both are small cams and between the two the differences is pretty small.

True, and for the money I would get the hotcam if I had to pick between the two. Just not enough performance difference in the two for the price. If you decide on the 305, rethink it and go with the 306.

Question XE cams?

What about the XE cams Comp makes? Some of their profiles seem to fall in between a 305 and a 306, but I hear they are hard on valvetrain parts since the valves open and close faster. I want to go a little more radical than a 305 but I live in AZ so there's no way I could get a 306 to pass the sniffer, dammit!

Yes the XE's and any step ramped cam will slap your valvetrain parts around.

Small price to pay for a considerable power difference.

the power differences would be unnoticeable,the Hot Cam is a tiny bit smaller but it has less advance ground into it and it has a 112 LSA which would help it rev faster than the cc305.The faster you rev the easier it is to make power so.....power should be about the same considering it has a bit less duration.

CC306 will pass emissions, just takes a bit of work. Just adding that since you said you wouldn't be able to get it passed a sniffer.

My hotcam was actually a 218 229, 525 525, 112.

I think they may have changed them recently.
