LT1Brutus im going to have to disagree with you on the ferrera valves being a poor choice. In my opinion they are the best choice. I was researching them vs the LT4's.
Also the LT4 hot cam springs are to weak. They are 100 ft lbs seat pressure when more like 120 ft lbs is needed. They will work but you might actually run better with new springs. Plus overtime the springs lose their stiffness and will actually be more like 90 ft lbs when you've had them in for alittle while.

And as far as the 2.00 1.56 arguement... i guess anything larger on stock heads doesnt matter because the valve cylinder size can not be ported anymore than that... so larger valves just over hang the edges.

and Dave C. '97 Z28 your car is just nuts...

Your running a bigblock, not an LT1...shameless plug for yourself....

From my understanding a 2.0, 1.56 is a good setup. Don't have to play with to much shrouding either.

ZDriver, why don't you look @ the weight of the FERREA valves. They're very heavy. I don't have the weights in front of me, but I've researched it in the past.

I'll have to weigh some 2.00" valves next time someone sends me something other than Ferrea. I believe they're slightly heavier, but I've never had a problem turning them 7k with some pretty aggressive HR lobes, so IMO it isnt much of an issue.

I went with Manley Race flo valves: 2.00 intake and 1.56 exhaust. These are about he largest valves you can install on the stock seats. If you decide to go with 2.02/1.60 or larger valves then new seats are required...expect price to rise considerably!! In fact it would probably be more wise to upgrade to a thicker aftermarket casting (like an AFR ) instead of pouring all that money into a relatively thin LT1 casting. Especially if you have a supercharger/NOS included in future plans.
