Big torque converter bad for OBD1 emmisions?

I have a 95 i need to pass emissions with EGR and AIR delete and no cat, i have a feeling witha lil alcahol oin the gas tank, and fresh O2's i could get it to pass with that, but im worried about the higher RPM from a 3600 stall converter?

Will the extra RPMs be bad or will it be such a light load at that RPM it wont be a problem? The car will go on a dyno at the emissions test ststaion.

humm no guesses huh, well it failed HC and CO. HC was a 3.6? limit is .80 CO was about double the limit. New plugs and wires, brand new delco O2s with 2 miles on em maybe. EGR and AIR delete, no cats.

Im wondering if the old gas is what killed me. Its from last fall! and had sta-bil in it. Also had a gallon of denatured alcohol to 4-5 gallons of the gas. If its not the nasty old gas i think my original 120K mile opti is killing me. That cap n rotor gotta be beat up with those kinda miles!

Car runs very well and is strong, doesnt burn any oil eiter? Im thinking the performance tune wasnt helping me with the timing advanced all over the place. Ion will be doing an emmisions tune for me this weekend. I beleive he will do some data logging too? So if theres anything funny going on we should be able to figure it out hopefully.

I think the stall only hurts gas mileage. You are going to need a cat. Why on earth would you remove it knowing you have to pass?

Ive seen plenty of cars pass with no cats. Just takes a lil work.

It might be easier to put in a flanged cat for testing purposes, and then replace it with a straight pipe for day to day use.

Thats what I was going to reccommend. Good thing you dont have to pass a visual inspection, they might get mad if they see you removed all your emissions hardware and your cats

I was just about to mention the visual; if I tried to pull that in Cali they would probably give me the electric chair!!

In my opinion there should not even be a visual inspection.
If it passes the sniffer whats the problem?

I get my panties in a bunch about it and I don,t even have emissions testing.

Thank God.
