BIG PROBLEM WITH CAR, PLZ HELP. IM SO STUMPTED. Shoebox, Injuneer inside
This is how it started. I was driving along going about 65 and i heard a LOUD noise(like a rock hitting the bottom of my car) and as i was rolling to a stop i noticed that my car was running weird. As i slowed down more it got WORSE and worse, and i looked behind me and my car was smoking alot. i pulled over, and turned of the car. When i got out i could smell a lot of gas. I got back in and started it again and it ran rough, it was sputtering and idling rough and smoking but the oil pressure was fine, but the smoke smelled like gas(it was white smoke). I stopped the car. And later when i tried to start it, it got harder and harder. The tow truck guy came, to it to my house and now its sitting there. I dont know what to do? It will crank, but wont start because i think its flooded with fuel because there is still a strong gas smell. where should i start. Is there anyway to diagnosis for free (get the codes). Please help
this is my only ride. Im so depressed, i hope its not serious

you either dont have air or spark or a blown head gasket (white smoke).
I saw a 5.0 stang blow a head gasket right infront of me today.
he nailed it, accelerated fine then BAM! white smoke everywhere and a weird coolant smell.
you probobly dont have air problems inless you dropped a valve
spark- opti took a sudden poop? check all your wires and stuff, turn the key in a dark garage. see fireworks?

i hate to look inpatient, its just that i need to know where to start looking to dig into work. Im stumped. You can tell the engine is flooded, because it wont start, and it has a strong gas smell. I might let it sit over night to let the gas dry up or whatever then try to start it and see what happens??????

first i would get a jack, and in the morning jack up the car. maybe you'll see something since you said it sounded like you hit something. under the driver's side rocker is your fuel lines. check there first if you smell gas. then pull oil dipstick, see if it looks milky, or pop rad cap. if it is milky probably a head gasket problem.
g'luck!

plus, i would have heard a clunking sound if it was a dropped valve. Me and my grandpa have ruled out the top end. It has a lot of fuel in the cylinders, still cranks. Wont start. Timing out of wack? Bad pcm? How can i read my codes on a 94?
Make a close visual inspection under and all over the engine. You can't just wait for someone to tell you what it is, you gotta get out there and check it out. If nothing is found visually, pull a couple of plugs and see how they look. Check spark, if necessary. Look at the basics, first.
Are you sure that there is no water is the dipstick? If not then try flush your rad well the engine is on and then fill it up with water...if you hear cracklin noises and see bubbles when you flush out the rad....then its heads. I cracked my heads a few years back and the first thing I did weas check the dipstick...nothing. Then I flushed out the rad and heard my crackling noise...blown heads or gaskets...unfortunately I wasn't lucky enough to have a blown gasket
