See sig.

The real question is; how fast do you want to spin your motor?

7K? Thats no biggy. With a good set of heads, ported AFR 190cc's or something, the CC306 could take you there, that or the XE236/242.

But if you want huge power, you'd probably want AFR 227cc's, or some other more elaborate and expensive heads. I'll let someone speak up with more head experience than I do.

Cam's I've got covered. Got any specific questions about cams?

Kain those are really good times for the mod's you listed. Are those the only mod's you have or just the major ones? I have very similar mod's to you accept a 3000rpm vig. and I don't have a cam yet. But if I can expect to see times like that if I run well I'm psyched.

The question is, How fast do you want to spend? Depends on how much money you got.

Here are my cam specs . They were installed with 1.6 rockers. Motor stroked 383, stock casting max ported heads, with domed pistons. Compression is at 14:1. Dynod at 557 FWHP and 490 FT-PDS torque. Hope to get every thing wrapped up this week so I can get some track time. Should run high 10s N/A. Am sure I could have gotten alot more with some AFRs but wanted to see how far I could get with stock casting heads. Good luck in your quest for your new motor.

Oh no, I've got the regular army of bolt-on's behind it. My Vig is really loose, normal Vig3200's flash about 3600, mine flashes 4000.

Cam picked me up alot. Before the cam I ran 12.9@104 w/ 1.77 60'. I was suprised it picked me up 7 tenths and 5 mph.

230deg int. duration - that ain't big

Seriously though.. "big" is a bit subjective IMO. I wouldn't sell street people anything larger than something like the 236/242ish lobes though (stock displacement) . Of course if you arent daily driving the car, and
want to focus more on performance than anything, you could go a little bigger without too many issues IMO

As far as Grease's stuff, I believe he's running 1.6RR's. His stuff was setup with them in mind anyway

Not huge here but VERY driveable

Same cam as grease, 350 cubes

Rest is in the signature. Just need traction now.

Comp Cams solid race roller

over 270 @ .50 int
over 280 @ .50 exh
over .700 lift both sides
LSA is narrower then you might think for Nitrious cam
AFR 220 race ported heads
big compression race gas only
with Nitrious over 800 rwhp

Times are in Sig...suffering from poor traction. I like my big cam

Vince

This is very true. If a person is running the stock bottom end, odds are they don't want to spin over 6500 and you can go too big.

But if you have a build SBC motor like my friend does in his 69 Firebird and rev's 9000 rpm, that takes a little different cam.
