Beware of Ebay

So I see a great deal on what appears to be an 1LE intake elbow from the pic. The sellers caption reads: 93-97 Camaro LT1 OEM Rubber Intake Elbow Z28 NO TEARS!

Well I now that the stockers have the silencer tube running under them and the picture plainly shows no tube.

So I shoot off an e-mail to the seller: The item looks to be a 1LE intake elbow. Your description says it is an OEM elbow. Was the resenator removed or is it a 1LE elbow?

And this is the reply: Its open as it sits right now, you would just need to transfer over your stock silencer

Am I missing something. Are those tubes velcroed on? Experts please enlighten me but I have never heard of transfering a silencer tube. And what the hell does no tears mean?

The silencer tube is removable it is held on with a hose clamp if I remember correctly, and no tears means no tears on the rubber intake tube which is common on them.

i have gone from a stocker to a 1le elbow and it is a waste of money, if you replace the stocker always go with a trick flow style because stock and 1leit always tear right on the throttle body. mine is doing it again.

If he says it takes a silencer, then you are bidding on the exact item you already have on your car.
He also says its OEM, which implies the above

It is NOT a 1LE elbow. The 1LE elbow does not have a silencer, it is molded shut

Check this pic from Shbox.com

You seem to be confused. He is selling a stock elbow with no tears in it and the silencer tube is removed. You would have to transfer your silencer tube to his or block off the hole. The tube is held on by a clamp.

The elbows tear when people force them on or if they are over tightened.
