The spark plugs just dont pull or twist out, you need to take them off with a special spark plug socket and ratchet. There is no real easy way to do a plug/wire change on these cars. You will find it works best to pull some plugs from the top and others from the bottom of the car. Also, in order to get to plug #2, removal of the alternator will make it alot easier. As for the wires, they are pretty easy to do on the drivers side, the passenger side is trickier however. Just take your time routing them and make sure that the boot ends are firmly snapped onto the spark plugs and the Opti-spark terminals. That is all I can think of right now, also, if you do a "search", you'll pull up alot of good info. on this as well. Good luck.

You are going to need a 5/8" spark plug socket and either an accompanying 3/8" ratchet or an open end wrench to slip over the hex shape of the socket. The socket should only cost a few bucks from any auto parts or hardware store.

Well, you can look under your hood and get a feel for what you are up against. Its not a job that requires alot of technical know-how, but it is still difficult, hence the reason why alot of shops charge a good sum to do it. Do you have any friends/family that are good with cars? If so, maybe you can enlist their help as well.

as far as the distributor or the cap and rotor if you have the $$ buy the whole thing. the whole distributor. it would be best to get the one from the dealer but it all depends on your $$ i did the opti and waterpump and plugs and wires all at the same time took 2 days but i did not spend all my time working on it. changing the plugs or just about anything is frustrating on these cars so give yourself time to be able to relax instead of pulling your hair out. i cant remember the spark plug socket size but you can find out by looking at the new ones youy buy while at the store they should be the same size as the old ones.
it is also a good idea to buy all the flexing attachmens for the sockets that you can they will help in the tight spots!
