Best way to do exhaust

I have a flowmaster now with stock exhaust and was wandering what could I do to get more out of the system. I read that people are going to a dual setup and I cant see how that is going to happen under an F body(not enough room). So should I go with something custom or is the stock setup good enough with shorties and a flowmaster?

Only plans I have on doing with the car right now is obd1 conversion, hedders and exhaust since this is my daily driver.

You could run a larger single pipe that is mandrel bent. Duals are a waste of money (and twice the weight of a single pipe system) unless you are really going to mod. Even running a larger single mandrel bent pipe may only gain a max of 2/10 of a second over your current setup. Usually the bend over the axel is the worse restriction in the piping. You could always put in a cut out.

You could throw on a cutout.. most people do that and like the way it sounds and it adds a little something at the track.

With that said I run hooker longtubes into two three inch pipes with and x and use no mufflers.. just collector inserts. and the rear of the car, just before the rear wheels I have it turned outward and downward. It's really not so loud

I guess you have to think of it this way, what's the best setup for me? What are my plans for the car? Do I want something custom? Something loud or something tame?

There are a lot of aftermarket bolton exhaust systems available too.. you really have quite a selection in that department. I will say that I wouldn't have anything custom made because it'll cost an insane amount of $$$ unless of course you know how to weld and can do it yourself

Got pics of the dual setup? I want to go longtubes and a single pipe to the rear. Anyone with this setup?
