Question Best way to check timing is correct before installing cover???

I just installed my cam and double roller timing chain, and want to be 100% sure the timing is correct before I bolt the cover on. When I disasemmbled the cover, it was jsut about at #6 tdc, with the cam sprocket just past the crank by a small smount. I installed it the same way, and then inserted a bolt into the crank and turned it, and it appears to be fine at #1 and #6 tdc, because the dots lined up fine. After I removed the bolt, the crank gear shifted a little to the left, and the cam gear to the right, so the marks are a little off, but the cam is still at 3'o clock, and I think it is set up right, so should I be ok??
Thanks,
Brandon

Put the #1 cylinder at TDC, then the dot on the crank sprocket at 12:00, the cam sprocket should be at 6:00. Rotate the crank a full revolution to verify the timing marks remain aligned.

you could verify this with a degree wheel and the cam card that came with your camshaft.
