best timing chain upgrade?

best timing chain upgrade?

im getting the hotcam kit installed gonna have the timing chain replaced too i was first looking at the heavy duty timing chain kit from GM but was wondering if there was a better kit.

The LT4 extreme duty is about the best one you can get for an LT1. Another very good chain is the Cloyes double roller, it's about 1/3 the price but it requires eliminating the water pump drive and running an electric pump. That's what I went with.

I can't say if there is a better kit, but I have always
used genuine GM parts and never been disappointed.
Get the GM extreme duty set since it was designed
for the setup you are planning on running. Based on
your user name I am assuming that you have a "Gen II"
LT1.

Now that I have typed this out I see that you already
have the same response.

another for the Cloyes double roller and electric WP conversion. Much cheaper and havent ever gone above 180 degrees under the hottest weather and lots of use of the gas pedal
