Best Street/Strip shock/spring combo?

Post your opinions here on what you think.... Don't wanna spend a fortune, but this is going to be for a 9 second car so I'm willing to at least do it right. Just no overkill....

Thanks
Chuck

9 sec car calls for the HAL setup in my book. Set up soft for strip, then turn the dials for medium or firm on the street. Can't beat that! The whole setup is cheaper than Konis too.

HAL/QA1 as mentioned above. Its tried, tested and proven part, you can't go wrong there.

Most poeple here are using Eibach spring for lowering. If you're using the HAL struts and any other spring other than HAL you'll need to modify a stock spring seat to fit over the HAL strut.
By lowering the car you'll run into other problems and you might need LCA lowering bracket.

You can adjust the ride hight on the front HALs with a special wrench, technically known as (square pin adjustable hook wrench), its sold by HAL.
The rears are are only adjustable for firmness and not ride hight.

For the rear spring you can use any brand you like, HAL, Eibach even stock, it doesn't matter becuase the spring and shock are seperate. What counts is the front spring which is a Macpherson or coilover and the HAL strut is slightly bigger in diameter than stock, so if you plan on using anything but the HAL spring on the FRONT struts you'll need to modify a stock spring seat.

Hope this helps.

I have the HALs in front and back. Their adjustability is awesome!

I lowered the front an inch or two, but the back is still on the stock springs. I'm considering lowering springs for the back, but for a drag launch you want bouncy springs, not stiff. But I think most lowering springs are stiffer than stock. If anyone knows more about springs please chime in!

If your car is a 9sec car you are going to want to run at least a 28" slick. That would mean lowering is pretty much out of the question. IMHO I would run Hals with stock springs out back and some 1/2" drop or so up front.
