best stock size replacement pushrod?

Looking at dropping GMPP 1.6 RRs into my 96Z. Wanted to know what the best replacement pushrod would be. Are hardened pushrods going to worth the money on a stock cam? If stock pushrods would be best.. what is the GM P/N?

For about $100 you can pick up a set of Comp Magnum pushrods that will handle any spring pressure on a hydraulic roller and most solid roller setups.

I have a set of hardened push rods from my 94z with 9000 miles on them. They are in perfect shape. I will let them go cheap.

I think I read somewhere that the stock 94-95 pushrods were hardened but the 96-97 rods were not? What's up with that?
Any difference in size or diameter between the two? Does anyone have GM part #'s.

I think I found the part # for a set of 93-95 pushrods in one of Shoebox's old posts;

P/N 12371041 (about $21 on GMpartsdirect.com + S&H)

The fact that there are different part #'s for the 93-95 and 96-97 pushrods would definitely lead me to believe that there is some difference between the two. Can anyone tell me why GM would go w/ hardened pushrods but then switch them out for something else in 1996? Seems wierd....

I guess GM decided hardened pushrods werent necessary.They cost more too.FWIW I am running the stockers with a small cam.
