Re: best spark plugs for N/A lt1???

Been running the stock AC plugs in my LPE 383 since 1995...I change them every 2-4 years as routine maintenance...I also hear that NGK makes a good plug, too..

Re: best spark plugs for N/A lt1???

I've used stock replacement ACdelco platinum plugs, Champion copper plugs, NGK TR-55's, and they have all been the same. I didn't notice a difference in any of them. I hear a lot of people bash the platinums because the puck falls off, I've even heard some bad things about the NGK's. Since it's all the same to me, I'd run the ACdelco platinums so I wouldn't have to change them so often.

Sorry to hijack but what about plug gapping? Does the .004 for every 50hp rule hold up?

Maybe more specific I am running an ~11.0:1 compression 350 h+c setup good for about 400HP. What should I gap my plugs at?

Lingenfelter gapped my stock ACs to .035 in my 11:1 383. I put an MSD on and gapped at .050". There is a fine line between getting a good big spark and having it blow out with high compression. Either way I've noticed no difference except for the $145 missing from my wallet for the MSD.

"Best" threads usually boil down to a person's opinion (or what they are using or what they have heard or...). A definitive answer is usually not what you get.

Re: best spark plugs for N/A lt1???

Ive run delcos, NGK (tr55, tr6), champion, autolite (104, 106)...

Honestly i would recomend autolites or NGK as they are cheap and work. If you dont wanna change them often, then go with delcos, but im gonna stick to copper.
