Re: Best Spark Plug Choice...

I just recently changed to Autolite 106's w/ the copper core, they work alot better than any platinum plug that ive used. I was using the delco rapid fire plat. The Autolite Plat 106's would probably be nice too I'm guessing.

AC Delco rapidfire #3's. I have been running them for years on my NA LT1.

OEM platinum AC Delcos. My car just doesn't run as good with other plugs.

Re: Best Spark Plug Choice...

I just bought a set of the autolite plat. 106's. First time I'll be using them.

I've used Bosch plat's before with decent results.

Used NGK's before, but they kept coming "unscrewed". The part where the spark plug wire boot attaches to the plug, that comes unscrewed from the ceramic part of the plug. It happened to me more than once, on more than one plug. I won't use the NGK's anymore because of it.

Re: Best Spark Plug Choice...

Another one on the list for Autolite 106 plugs.
Just swapped out mine this past Wednesday. My LT1(all stock) runs AWESOME!!

Somebody installed some crappy Bosch plugs in mine...was running a bit rough before. That's why I swapped out the plugs.

Re: Best Spark Plug Choice...

I run NGK's in mine without a problem, I've also got a msd 6AL box and a blaster coil, and found that the msd will melt the platinums after about 1000 miles.. for stock ignitions, i'ld say either a good set of ac delcos or the ngk's, haven't had alot of luck with the autolights in this one.. good in my older camaro.. maybe mine's tempermental.. I run TR-5's.. stocking number is 2238.. depends on where you go to get'em..

Best plug for what?

Longevity = platinum/iridium

performance = copper

FWIW I run Champion copper plugs in mine. Nuttin' fancy.

Re: Best Spark Plug Choice...

I've gone thru changing a lot of plugs on my car.

The best made imo are the ac delco's.

I run the AC R42LTS on my blown LT1. Other blower/turbo guys run these plugs too. If N/A, you probably want the AC R45LTS, they are a hotter plug.

I just looked at the autolite 104's yesterday cause I'm changing plugs again due to ignition problems. They looked very similar to the AC's, but the AC's looked more heavy duty despite being the same length.

BTW, I'm making the switch over to the Delteq ignition. Man is thing impressive so far! It is so much easier to run the plug wires to the coils than to the opti. We'll see how she runs tomorrow.

Re: Best Spark Plug Choice...

I guess I will chime in here.

About to go N20 and just put in platnums before I decided to go N20....

Was looking at NGK TR55's (125 shot at the most BTW)

Want the best performance, don't really care if they last forever or not because this car is starting to turn into just a racer

Re: Best Spark Plug Choice...

if you're going to spray i'd use the TR6's. they have a better heat range for the nitrous. NA i'd use TR55's, which is what i run and i love em!
