Best place to get GM 847?
Re: Best place to get GM 847?
I got mine from Salle Chevrolet 1-800-545-0048
When I was building they were on back order everywhere, so I called every dealership in the freakn country and they had them in stock. I think it was $238 plus shipping

I don't live in NC and I won't pay that much for shipping, either.
Re: Best place to get GM 847?
You could, but I wouldn't. The spring pressure I'd like to run is pushing it on a cam with that aggressive of a profile and that much open pressure IMO. I'm going to run my 847 with Comp 977's, similar as the 987, but more spring pressure for less chance to float a valve. To do that, It's required to use comp R's to deal with the pressure (a stock lifter would collapse)and aftermarket pushrods. You could probably get away with Comp 987's or an equivalent spring, but I'd consider changing sooner or later...
