Pennzoil, Valvoline, and non-syn. Mobil are three of my favorites. I use Valvoline synthetic blend (mixture of regular and syn.) in my grand prix and I used to use Pennzoil in my Camaro but now I switched over to Mobil One syn.

Re: best non synthetic oil, help ASAP please

Havoline, Pennzoil and Mobile 1 have usually been the best. Valvoline has historically been one of the worst oils in tests.

If you change your oil every 3-5k miles or so you really don't have much to worry about unless you're going for extremely high mileage. The things that seperate most oils of the same class usually only become a factor if you run the oil for long durations.

www.bobistheoilguy.com is the place to go to learn about oils. Otherwise, you're gonna be wading through a sea of worthless opinions. On that site, it's more like a small pond of worthless opinions with a good bit of facts.

The Camaro owners manual says use anything that has the starburst symbol on it with the "for gasoline engines." All the above oils have this, also my understanding is that since Chevron and Texaco merged, their non-synthetics are one and the same and both very good.

Castrol GTX startup is the ****, it actually does protect on startup w/ the use of polarized oil molecules which stick to metal.
