start with a huge shot of nitrous you will go from like 700rwhp to 0rwhp in the matter of seconds

If it's an automatic start with a higher stall Torque Converter-not HP but get out of the hole way better. Otherwise start with intake, exhaust, headers, gears.

N20 is by far the best hp/$ mod you can do.
Granted, it only lasts as long as the bottle does ("soft-HP")
A good catback and CAI are big bang-for-the-buck basic mods.
The TB Bypass will net some decent hp and costs next to nothing.
Headers will net a great HP:$ ratio, if you install them yourself.
A simple driveshaft swap (Steel VS Aluminum) runs about $75-125 and will free up some power at the wheels.
Not sure what year your car is, but a mail-order chip or PCM tune helps a lot too
