Why does the board start a new " what is best CAI" and "what is the best cat back" thread once a week??? Come on guys. All you have to do is look back two pages or so to find an exact thread. If you dont want to do that search a little bit. Everyone has their own opinions and no one really knows which one is "best" Since im posting anyways though, i will say that i purchased a lingenfelter intake, and it works fine. Better than any of the others, who knows? It was pretty cheap, looks similar to some of the more expensive ones and came with a big air filter, so i bought it.

Lingefelter is the cheapest and has the largest K&N included of ANY CAI Kit. $159.99. Advertised 12rwhp gain on stock Z/28.

Re: Best Intake?

I second that for the LPE one. Great design. Takes about 20 minutes to install once the car is jacked up/tools are out. The filter is beastly in size. I dont think it could actually fall off of the tube part where it clamps on bcause the bottom of that under car air dam thinger would hold it up. Theres maybe a half inch between it and the filter once its assembled. Pretty neat, especially for the price.

I didnt jack up either of the cars I installed the LPE on, so that there would save you even more time. I think I installed my buddies in about 5-7 minutes, it started pouring rain once I got his stock stuff out, so I hauled *** to get it done.

None the less, sweet CAI. The filter is about the same size as a 2 liter coke bottle.

Re: Best Intake?

it took a little bit longer than others for me to install my LPE intake but like others said the filter is huge, and barely fits, actually mine didnt fit, so i just cut that whole section under neath out. of course that means not to drive it in the rain, which mine never sees.

Re: Best Intake?

For those guys who have the LPE intake...How much was the shipping on it? I'm liking what I'm hearing about it and the price seems really good.

Re: Best Intake?

I dont know the shipping since my G/F got it for me, but I'm sure if you want to LPE's site and tried to checkout it will give you a quote.

Re: Best Intake?

lol I couldnt remember if I jacked it up or not it was so long ago. I just figured I did, cause these cars suck to do anything on with them on the ground.

I think shipping was like 10$? Im pretty sure I got it for under 175$, shipped.

It came fast.

The filter is gigantic.

Re: Best Intake?

Yea it would probably make everything easier jacked up, but for the sake of saving time, leave it on the ground.
