Best Headers for the $

Hey guys,
I just purchased at Z28 camaro with t-tops and i am wanting to buy headers. I dont know if i should get Long Tubes or shorties? and what kind of brand i should get. I am looken at either hooker long tubes or bbk shorties. Give me your opinion on some and how hard are they to install on a camaro?
thx rob

Definately longtubes. If hooker is your only choice then get those, if not, go with Jet Hot.

Not to hijack this thread, but I was just getting ready to post one about a similar question...I'm tired of the LPE shorties I've had since 1995...I've kinda narrowed down my long tube choices to Pacesetters 1 3/4" coated $415 from Summit...or the Hooker Supercomps 1 3/4" $409 uncoated probably another $179 for the coated.

I'm looking for 1 3/4" primaries, ease of install, access to the plugs, and ground clearance...

Those with long tubes lemme know what you think...
Thanks...Alan

I take it that the Jet Hots went in easy and you can change plugs without a blood transfusion?

you'll definately pick up a few more horses at the rear with long tubes, especially with your 383...

Might want to consider the Pacesetter LTs, you can get them coated for $400. Quality is great!

Yeah that $415 from Summit seems hard to beat....OK so now its Pacesetters or Jet Hot?.....Those with Pacesetters how is the coating holding up...I know that Jet Hot has had problems, but they seem to stand behind their stuff...

How much HP are you looking to make, because there are tradeoffs with either design.

So are the pacesetters easier to put in your car? and how would you do that, from the bottom of the car or from the top. I also like hooker, but pacesetters are sounding good because of the price.
