Techron gets "good press". They have a single treatment bottle. I run Chevron gas that has the Techron built in.

Does any of this really work I tried Seafoam and others and never noticed anything. Unless my cars never needed cleaning??

I think Techron was jointly developed by Chevron
and Yamaha for 2-stroke outboard motors. The product
for OBs is called "Ring Free" and it makes a noticable
difference in the build up of carbon in the combustion
chamber, ring gaps and plugs. I use the maintenance
dose of Ring Free in my OB (200 Yamaha) and buy
Chevron gas just because it already has Techron
in it.

I would imagine that a Techron based fuel system
cleaner would be good too.

i used techron before. it smoothed out my idle a little and felt more smooth throughout the powerband. it also gave me a real small bit of better gas mileage. it did help though.

If your injectors are truly that dirty, you'll need to get a presurized fuel system cleaning somewhere. However if your just doing routine maintainence, get a $2 bottle of STP or equivalent. It does help keep them clean over time. The trick is, you need to use is every time you change your oil for a few months to get the full effect. A one time use, while it won't hurt anything, will not produce the results your looking for. If you read the back of most of the fuel system cleaning products, they advise a routine maintainence schedule with their products.

I use the stuff, but I wouldn't pay more that 2-3 bucks a bottle for it; personally.

Anyway, that's just my .02.

I throw in a bottle with every oil change I do. When I asked the man at advance (who helps me all the time) he said that the bottle called LUCAS was the best they had and he heard good thigns about it, but most of the stuff is the same. So every 3k miles, its a bottle of Lucas for me
