Best fuel injector cleaner?
#2
I don't believe you'll get a lot of responces to this question. There are a number of horror stories about the many additives used in gasoline to 'clean' injectors... I have suffered through a pump replacement due to (I suspect) an additive...

If you are just going to run a tank full of stuff thru it, the best is probably RedLine but keep in mind it just helps keep them clean its not going to dislodge anything.
If you think the injectors are indeed dirty, then pull them out and send them to a quality shop to have them cleaned. Before re installing them see if you can find why they were dirty. Most of the time its due to a old fuel filter coming apart, or a broken sock on the fuel pump letting more dirt go by than what it should.
The worst I have probably seen was on a friends turbo car, he bought it with 170,000 miles on it and the fuel filter had never been changed....it came apart and clogged all but one injector. The filter had to be changed, all injectors were junk and we had to flush out the fuel system on the car....and go thru about 3 more filters in the next 10,000 miles just to make sure. What a mess

I use and recommend 3M products. by far the easiest is #08912 because it does not require a regulator. It connects with a hose directly to the fuel rail. You remove the fuel pump relay and remove the fuel regulator vac line and plug it.
Once the cleaner is connected and turned on, you simply start the car and let it run till it shuts down. The vehicle runs directly off the cleaner and when the can is empty and the car shuts down, the job is done. It's safe for all sensors too. Follow up every oil change with in tank cleaner like BK and you're set.
Find a garage that will do this type of cleaning for you. I simply bought the hoses to do it myself. Cost $100.00 but you can get it back by doing others for small amounts if you want. The cleaner goes for about $16.00 a can.
It' the only way to fly. Removing the injectors sucks.
good luck

I like Sea Foam injector cleaner, I usually run at least one can before every oil change and I clean the carbon out by spraying Deep creep into the intake mainifold. It seems to do a good job of keeping everything running smooth.

Max 44 has always worked the best for me........other than that i have run toluene through the carb in my truck and that stuff really works good. but you would have to buy that from a science lab or somewhere else, that or find a meth lab and borrow some from them

Running a bottle of Chevron w/ Techron every oil change has me happy, my daily driver has almost 100k on it, and most everyone else has had to change out their injector pintles due to carbon build up. I pulled my intake to change a leaky gasket not too long ago, and they look great, did my wife's blazer too, which we just bought and couldn't beleive it was still running!!
be sure to run a bottle every oil change. run the car till about empty, pour in bottle, then run about 8-10 gallons in the tank, run it out, then fill it up.
