Best components to use for a 383 build up?

Well I found out that I have some burnt rings. Its time for a new bottom end! So, I am going to go with a 383. I need it to be strong as hell because later on I am planning on throwin on a power adder. I don't know much about good pistons and rods and whatnot. Just need to get an idea of whats out there for my aplication. Thanks guys.

I had Horsepower Engineering build my 383 shortblock for my single turbo project using 3.75" forged Eagle crank, 5.7" Forged Eagle H-beam rods, and -31cc JE/SRP forged pistons. Also, I am using all ARP upgraded rods/bolts. This setup will handle 700-800rwhp no problem from what I have been told, as long as the utning is good.

What do you want to do now and later? You could build a bottom end now that with a change of heads (from stock to aftermarket) would set you up the way you wanted to go.

IMHO aftermarket heads are needed with boost and large shots of N2O due to the thick deck.

You need to spend most of the money on the block prep and good assembly with parts that will hold up to the rest of the job.

How much coin are you willing to spend dictates on the level of parts you want.

That being said...browse the for sale section and get an ideal of what guys are selling some pretty good setups for 50% off...or more.

Plan on what you really want power wise....then come up with a plan to get there...so buy parts that support the "want" even if they hinder some with the "now" power.

Pretty much price isn't too much of an option. I am goin to do this, I am goin to do it once, and right! So I just want really good stuff in there, that can take a hellava beating. Possibly, nitro/blower/turbo. One of those kinda things. Just need her bullet proof!
